Profiction 101

Profiction is an anti-harassment label for those who do not believe your fictional preferences reflect your real life morals. People can like and dislike whatever fictional things they want and can publicly state as much if they want to, it’s fine.
Profiction supports the freedom of fiction, as long as it is not directly meant to harm or involve real people. Profiction does not support harassing or insinuation horrible things about people over their fictional interests. Leave people alone if they aren’t actually hurting real beings.

If it is rooted solely in fiction, it should be allowed to exist. It only becomes a problem when it upholds real, material harm (ex: racist imagery) or when it could directly harm a real person.
(EX: NSFW RPF of real minors is HARMFUL, adults are fine)

“BUT FICTION AFFECTS REALITY!”

Correct, fiction can affect reality. However, it is up to the individual to separate the two appropriately. The individual is responsible for their own actions, don’t let creeps get away with blaming their actions on fictional works.

"Wait, isn't this just--"

Profiction **does not **equal support of MAPs. It is not a pro-paraphile label. This is strictly about fiction.
Those who use the label to try and justify actual pedophiles should be blocked and reported.
Many who label as profiction have experienced Child Sexual Abuse, and as such definitely do not need to be lumped in with the same types of people who committed such horrible acts.
You cannot assume what fictional content someone consumes just because they are profic. Some profics are totally vanilla, others might enjoy every taboo possible.
It depends on the individual.

What about 🌈🍖 or [insert alternate term here]?

Profic is a label meant only to specify ones views on fiction.
No extra strings attached.
Some (not all) RMs (rainbow meaties, a specific proship term from the Hannibal fandom) have been caught supporting RPF of real, existing minors, and some other alternatives add social justice and radical inclusion to its meaning-- both are things I don't need in my label... defending fictional porn.
If one wishes to use profiction alongside any other labels, that's perfectly fine. Profic isn't meant to dunk on other terms, it's an alternative.

The party blower, and any imagery that suggests artistic creations works! (Paintbrush, pen, palette, etc.)
The party blower is because we’re just here for a good time. 😎
I also elected to use the rabbit, because we are also harmless. (Also because I just like it but--)

[I used to have a twitter link here but I’m currently having to remake due to a false suspension whoops]
